S.Africa to host new summit on Zimbabwe crisis in Pretoria

JOHANNESBURG (AFP) — South Africa will host the next emergency summit on Zimbabwe, the foreign ministry said Thursday, as regional leaders were trying to save a Zimbabwean unity deal and stem a humanitarian crisis there.

President Robert Mugabe and his rival Morgan Tsvangirai agreed to the summit after marathon talks on Monday failed to resolve their dispute over how to share control of powerful ministries under a unity government.

South African President Kgalema Motlanthe, who mediated the talks earlier this week, will host the summit in Pretoria as the chairman of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the foreign ministry said in a statement.

All 15 member states will be represented, along with Tsvangirai’s Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) and a splinter group. The statement did not say if heads of government would attend, after earlier summits on Zimbabwe drew only a handful of regional leaders.

The summit would mark the fourth time that all SADC members have gathered to discuss Zimbabwe’s crisis since disputed elections last March.

Regional leaders see the unity deal as the best chance for breaking Zimbabwe’s political deadlock and curbing the nation’s dramatic economic collapse.

March’s first round presidential election was followed by a brutal wave of political violence.

Tsvangirai pulled out of a run-off, saying he had taken the decision because of violence against his supporters, leaving Mugabe to declare a one-sided victory in June.

Since then Zimbabwe has plunged ever deeper into crisis amid massive unemployment and crippling hyperinflation. More than 2,200 people have died from a cholera epidemic, while half the population is dependent on food aid.

AQIM Denies Black Plague Deaths Reports

Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) released refuted in an internet statement today media reports claiming that plague had swept through one of its camp in the tribal areas of Tizi Ouzou, allegedly killing 40 fighters and forcing the group to turn the shelters in its Yakouren forest camp into mass graves and flee to Bejaia and Jijel provinces.
“We would like to respond to what”s been reported on January 6th by some hypocrites who quoted their masters at the Algerian Intelligence Agency, claiming that dozens of mujahideen died from plague,” said the statement released by the group”s media committee. “We assure that such claims are categorically untrue and the mujahideen are just fine.”
The group claimed that such ‘false” reports had been deliberately released to prevent young people from joining al Qaeda. The statement also dismissed other media reports that claimed that the leader of AQIM had issued a religious edict allowing the killing of prominent Egyptian actor Adel Imam, who had recently blamed the Gaza war on Hamas. “Any statement released on our behalf by sources other than al Fajr Media is a false and deceptive statement.”

Amir Abu-Basir, Amir of Organization of al-Qa’idah in Arabian Peninsula, announced the formation of a united Organization of al-Qa’idah in Arabian Peninsula after Mujahideen of the Land of the Two Holy Places (Saudi Arabia) swore allegiance to the Emirate in Yemen, and the unified organization’s title is Organization of al-Qa’idah in Arabian Peninsula (Tanzim al-Qa’idah fi Jazirat al-’Arab).

The announcement was made at a news conference attended by journalist ‘Abdul-Ilah Sha’i’.

al-Qa’idah is going to establish training camps that would train Mujahideen who would help in liberating Palestine, Abu Basir said.

al-Qa’idah’s current efforts are aimed at disrupting supply routes for bases of Zionist-Crusaders in the Penisula, Abu Basir said.

A press release regarding the latest attack on US embassy in the capital San’a’ is going to be released soon, and that embassy played an important role in the Zionist-Crusader aggression against Muslims in Somalia, Arabian Penisula, Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine, Amir said.

Other commanders of the organization and officials from the Sharia department were present at the news conference, including Amir’s Na’ib (deputy) Abu Sayyaf al-Shihri, who spent for more than ten years at Guantanamo base prison.

Al Qaeda Unveils Plan To Strike Supply Lines to U.S. Forces in The Arab Peninsula

(Sada al Malahem) The leader of “Al Qaeda in the Arab Peninsula” Abu Basir claimed that the group has launched a plan to cut supply lines serving U.S. forces present in the Arab Peninsula. The claim came in an interview yet to be published which was granted to Abdulelah Haider Shaeya, a writer on Islamist groups and a brother-in-law of controversial Yemeni cleric, Sheikh Abdul Majeed al Zindani, who is wanted for questioning by the FBI over the attack on USS Cole.

This “exclusive” announcement was made today by the editors of “Sada al Malahem”, as they released the 7th issue of the group”s online magazine.

Abu Basir also announced that the militants in Saudi Arabia and in Yemen have now joined forces and will from now on operate under a single banner, that of the “al Qaeda in the Arab”s Peninsula”. He also said that the group included militants from various nationalities and that a camp has been set up for training with the aim of sending them to fight in Palestine.

Shaeya is expected to publish the full interview, which also tackles issues such as the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa and the overall strategy of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, in local and international media very soon.

In another article by Abu Basir featured in “Sada al Malahem,” the leader of al Qaeda in Yemen analyzed the state of and claims that the “Crusader forces” failed to achieve any of its goals, but succeeded in giving a much needed boost to jihad throughout the world.

Saudi jihadi leader, Abu Hamam al Qahtani (aka Nayef Mohammed al Qahtani), claimed in another article that there were close ties between militants in the Arabian Peninsula and those in Maghreb countries. He backed his claim by mentioning the names of Saudi operatives who fought in Algeria and other North African operatives who fought in the ranks of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
Al Qahtani is thought to be the financier of an attack that killed eight Spanish tourists in Maarib in July 2007.

A poster on the magazine”s back cover promised the release of a new video entitled: “From here we begin, in al Aqsa we meet which might show pictures of the training camps mentioned by Abu Basir in the interview.

GSPC founder calls for al-Qaeda surrender in Algeria

In the written document, which was released to the Algerian press, Hattab appealed to terrorists to renounce armed struggle in order to benefit from the law on civil concord. Drawing on a verse from the Qur’an and two hadiths from the Prophet Mohammed, he condemned the terrorist attacks perpetrated in Algeria in the name of Islam.

The former GSPC leader issued his call just as radical Islamists are demanding jihad in Gaza.

“What law or moral code could allow this?” he asked in the statement. “Is this really a jihad that would please God?”

Hattab simultaneously condemned and repented for acts of terrorism, “which do nothing for Islam or Muslims and against which I have already given warnings in the past”.

Advising his “brothers” to obey God and halt their activities, he implored them to “return to society and your families; society is ready to welcome you and heal the wounds”.

Monday’s appeal was not Hattab’s first. Last August, he responded to an attack on the police academy in Issers with a statement calling for terrorists to abandon their violent agenda.

Hassan Hattab left the GSPC in 2003 after a dispute with current leader Abdelmalek Droukdel over the legitimacy of targeting civilians. In September 2006 the group rallied to Osama bin Laden’s cause, changing its name to al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.

Hattab surrendered to Algerian authorities in late September 2007.

Salima Tlemçani, a terrorism specialist, told El Watan that the message follows a statement by Droukdel “calling for attacks against the interests of Westerners – particularly Americans, French and Israelis – throughout the world”.

The Droukdel communiqué was no longer available, however, just hours after its release, noted Tlemçani. Previous messages about Algeria are still available online.

According to the expert, Droukdel’s organisation has suffered heavy losses in recent months, to the point where it has been unable to regain ground, except for sporadic roadblocks. This has raised questions about the future of the group.

Journalists suggest that differences at the heart of the terrorist organisation have rendered it unable to carry out attacks as visible as those of last year. This is believed to be the result of both a series of surrenders within the heart of the group and a government crackdown.

According to Nayla Berrahal of Algerian daily Echorouk, the al-Qaeda organisation “is in a really difficult position since the start of the events in Gaza… due to the reaction of the public”.

She said the people believe the terrorist organisation is attempting “to profit from the situation to clean up its image following a series of suicide attacks and crimes targeting civilians”.

Rather than garnering the support of impassioned youths, Berrahal suggests Droukdel’s group has alienated itself. “These young people have risen up against the terrorist organisation, which they accuse of executing foreigners’ plans and strategies,” she said.

For many civilians, the former GSPC can no longer fool young people about its real intentions.

Lotfi Amine, a student, said the group “has no legitimacy or credibility to support Palestine, given the crimes it has committed against the sons and daughters of its own country”.

Fellow student Djamel Alek went a step further, accusing al-Qaeda of being “mercenaries”. Speaking to Magharebia, he addressed the terrorists: “Those who live in Gaza are pure and their blood is sacred. We do not want it to be mingled with the blood of mercenaries like you.”

Taliban video claims Pakistan attacks

Taliban militants on Sunday released a rare video of statements from purported suicide bombers and footage of deadly attacks they claimed to have perpetrated in Pakistan.
 

The 40-minute tape shows men and youths, some apparently in their teens, addressing the camera about their intention to carry out suicide attacks to background music of Urdu-language militant anthems.

The video was handed out to reporters in Peshawar, the capital of North West Frontier Province (NWFP), by militant commander Qari Hussain, who is based in the lawless South Waziristan tribal district that borders Afghanistan.

Hussain is also known as “Ustad-e-Fidaeen” or teacher of suicide bombers.

All those featured on the video spoke Pashto, the main language of Pashtuns living in NWFP and the tribal regions on the border with Afghanistan.

The two biggest attacks claimed on the video were a double truck bombing last March against the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) building in Lahore and bombing an office of Pakistan’s powerful Inter-Services Intelligence in 2007.

At least 87 people, including government and security personnel, were killed in those attacks and two others also claimed on the tape.

“I’m going to do this suicide bombing with Islamic sentiments,” says someone who gave his name only as Masood and looked to be in his teens, to a backdrop of footage from the FIA attack.

“Suicide bombers are the atomic weapons of Muslims because Muslims do not have the latest weapons to fight enemies who are committing atrocities against Muslims in Kashmir, Palestine, Afghanistan and Iraq,” Masood said.

On the video, a voice purported to be that of Hussain urges people to enlist for further suicide attacks.

“Israel, America and Pakistan’s military are committing atrocities against Muslims so jihad has become compulsory for all Muslims,” said the voice.

Another voice demanded that the Pakistani government call an immediate halt to military operations in tribal areas, release arrested militants and lift a ban on a Sunni extremist group.

Pakistan has been wracked by violence since hundreds of Taliban and Al-Qaeda rebels sought refuge in the northwestern region after the US-led invasion of Afghanistan toppled the Taliban regime in late 2001.

Mossad implicated in a coup plot in Turkey, a NATO country; CIA fingerprints also found on attempt

WMR) — Fresh from revelations, reported by WMR, that Israel’s Mossad and Chabad House-based criminal syndicates were targets in a criminal gangland retribution attack by a notorious Muslim gang in Mumbai, comes word that Mossad has, once again, been implicated in an intelligence and criminal network, this time in Turkey.

What makes this latest example of Israel’s failure to stem the criminal activities of its intelligence service and criminal syndicates worse is that Turkey, unlike Israel, is a NATO ally of the United States and, therefore, the United States is bound by treaty to protect NATO allies from aggression by non-NATO states, including Israel.

The Turkish and other Middle East media are reporting that the Mossad has been fingered in connection with a right-wing Turkish criminal and intelligence gang, known as Ergenekon, that stands accused of attempting to overthrow Turkey’s democratically-elected Justice and Development (AKP) Party of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul. Several Turkish papers have named a Turkish rabbi, Tuncay Guney, aka Daniel T. Guney and Daniel Levi and code-named “Ipek” or “Silk,” as having served as a double agent for the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) tasked with infiltrating the shadowy but powerful “state within a state” group Ergenekon. Guney had been arrested by Turkish authorities in 2001 for distributing fake drivers’ licenses and phony license plates for luxury cars. A document recently uncovered by the Turkish press revealed that Guney had also infiltrated a police intelligence unit (JITEM) working with Ergenekon to destabilize Turkey. Guney was exfiltrated to the United States and he now heads up the B’nai Yaakov Synagogue and Community Center in Toronto, Canada. Guney has denied that he has been an agent for Israel, Turkey or the United States but the MIT has confirmed the document identifying Guney as an agent for MIT is authentic.

The Turkish daily Hurriyethas reported that Guney served in MIT’s Counter-terrorism Unit (CTU) and in the MIT unit that monitors Iran. Hurriyet also reported that Guney had developed a contact at the Iranian consulate in Istanbul, Muhsin Karger, the consulate’s political affairs undersecretary.

Guney also has claimed to be a journalist and it is also alleged that he was a member of the PKK. Silvyo Ovaydo, the leader of the Turkish Jewish community, called Guney a fraudulent rabbi and said he was not even registered as a rabbi at the B’nai Yaakov synagogue in Toronto. Guney is said to have once worked for Islamist media organizations in Turkey but suddenly converted to Judaism and became an “instant rabbi” in Toronto.

At the heart of the Ergenekon story lies Mossad and its reported attempts to turn Turkey into another Lebanon or West Bank/Gaza, a country wracked by internal strife and constant warfare that would usher into power a strong right-wing military dictatorship. In the trial of one of the accused murderers of Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink, the lawyer for one of the accused murderers asked another accused murderer, Erhan Tuncel, a one-time police informer like Guney, if he had an Israeli girlfriend. Tuncel refused to answer the question, citing an invasion of his privacy. However, it was clear that what the lawyer was driving at was a Mossad connection to the murder of Dink, a murder that was being pinned on Turkish anti-Armenian nationalists by the corporate and heavyily Israeli Lobby-influenced media in the West.

When 89 suspects were named in a 2,455-page indictment by a criminal court in Istanbul last July, many retired Turkish army officers, the neocon network, especially in Washington, which is their major citadel, along with Jerusalem and London, began to throw cold water and the term “conspiracy theory” around charges in the Turkish indictment that Ergenekon played a major role in the formation of several Turkish terrorist groups to disrupt Turkish politics, including the illegal Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), Turkish Hizbollah (Party of God), the Marxist-Leninist People’s Liberation Party/Front (DHKP-C), and the little-known Islamic Great East Raiders Front (IBDA-C). The neocon Jamestown Foundation in Washington called the indictment’s links between Turkish military elements and radical terrorists a “conspiracy theory.” Organizations like Jamestown have no other choice. If it were also proven, as it was in Turkey, that various terrorist groups like “Al Qaeda,” “Deccan Mujaheddin,” and others exist courtesy of the nurturing and support by American, Israeli, and other Western military-intelligence structures, groups like Jamestown would lose their reasons for existence — to make propaganda and receive funding in order to keep the terrorist bogeymen, the actual “Emmanuel Godsteins,” alive.

Guney is reported to be the 86th suspect in the indictment of Ergenekon. Guney is believed to have revealed the initial detailed information on the existence of Ergenekon in order to avoid being charged in the case.

The involvement of extreme right-wing Turkish military and intelligence officials and Turkish organized crime networks, with Mossad and, possibly, CIA agents acting in concert with a suspected CIA-funded Turkish Islamic charismatic madrassaand Islamic centers’ chief named Fethullah Gulen — whose activities parallel pan-Turkic/Eurasianist (re: George Soros) goals of Ergenekon — is similar to the scenario now playing out in India where a little known group called “Deccan Mujaheddin” may have been created as a ruse by Indian right-wing military and intelligence officers, allied with Mossad and CIA agents, to sow discord in India and bring about a right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiv Sena Hindu government.

Gulen owns a number of media and business interests in Turkey and runs Islamic centers throughout central Asia and even in Russia.

In polls, some one-third of the Turkish public believe Islamist Nurcu sect charismatic leader Grand Hodja Fethullah Gulen, who lives in Pennsylvania, is part of a movement that aims to seize control of the Turkish state and a little over a third believe that Gulen is funded by “international powers.” After he was acquitted in Turkey of attempting to overthrow the secular state with his religious organization, Gulen was first denied a Permanent Resident Card or “Green Card” to remain in the United States by the U.S. Distrrict Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania but then an appeals court granted Gulen a Green Card. In October of this year, a federal appellate court found that U.S. immigration authorities improperly rejected Gulen’s request for a Green Card. The appeals court ruled that Gulen was “an alien of extraordinary ability,” a decision that saw approval of Gulen’s residency status. Observers of the case suspect the CIA intervened with the court on Gulen’s behalf. Gulen’s support for the AKP government may be an insurance policy by the CIA to maintain a close relationship with the “Islamist tendency” AKP government in Ankara. The Bush administration, after seven years of trying to deport Gulen to Turkey, suddenly dropped its opposition to his permanent residency status.

The public prosecutor in the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) case against Gulen’s permanent residency status argued in filed documents that Gulen’s movement was financially supported by Saudi Arabia, Iran, the Turkish government, and the “Central Intelligence Agency.” The deposition stated that some Ankara businessmen donated up to 70 percent of their income to Gulen’s movement.

If Gulen’s operations are funded by the CIA that means the “Agency” may be linked to Ergenekon. With the U.S. having a mutual defense treaty with Turkey’s recognized government that puts the CIA potentially in violation of U.S. law. And Israel’s connections with Ergenekon means that the United States is bound by treaty to protect its ally Turkey from Israeli covert or overt aggression.

There is an element of “McCarthyism” in the Ergenekon case. Some well-meaning officials have been subjected to being tainted by the broad brush of being associated with Ergenekon. One is Asil Serdar Sacan, the former head of the Istanbul organized crime department, who was the first to confiscate documents on Ergenekon in 2001 and broadened his investigation to include both Ergenekon and the Gulen organization. Sacan, who investigated the murder of Turkey’s “King of Casinos” Omer Lutfu Topol, successfully beat attempts to smear him, being acquitted of 36 criminal charges brought against him and being reinstated six times to his police position. Sacan is currently in jail as an Ergenekon suspect but his only “crime” appears to have exposed Guney as a possible triple agent for the MIT, Mossad, and CIA. In 2001, Guney was spirited out of Turkey thanks to an agreement between MIT’s undersecretary Senkal Atasagun and the CIA. Guney was given a 10-year U.S. visa thanks to the CIA’s intervention.

In fact, Ergenekon and its “deep state” players in Turkey and Shiv Sena and its extremist Hindu “deep state” allies in India, backed by elements of Mossad and the CIA, appears to be a replay of the CIA’s secret “Gladio” network in Europe that placed weapons caches in the hands of fascists and neo-Nazis groups to take up arms in the event of a Soviet invasion of Western Europe.

The use of “false flag” terrorist attacks in Western Europe by Gladio units were blamed on Communists in an effort to forestall Communist-Socialist coalition governments in Western Europe, particularly in Italy and France.

Similarly, Ergenekon stands accused of inciting conflicts between Turks and Kurds to create anarchy in the country with the aim of having Ergenekon seizing control of the Turkish government and re-cementing close ties with the United States and Israel.

In 2004, Ergenekon attempted three military coups against the AKP government. They were code-named Eldiven (The Glove”), Sarikiz (“The Blond Girl”), and Ayisigi (“Moonlight’).

Ergenekon has been cagily kept off the newspaper pages and TV news screens in the United States. To investigate Ergenekon and Gulen in Turkey is to peel away at an onion that could expose some other “unpleasantness” for certain quarters.

On January 10, 2007, WMR reported: “According to Federal law enforcement sources, two influential businessmen — Turkish Sunni Muslim Fetullahci charismatic leader Fetullah Gulen, who lives in Pennsylvania after being acquitted in Turkey in 2006 of plotting against the secular republic, and Saudi BMI Islamic investment chief investor Yasin Qadi, a major investor in Turkey who was named in October 2001 by President Bush as a Special Designated Global Terrorist — were both involved with the CIA in the late 1990s in funneling weapons and other support to the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), an Albanian terrorist group operating in the former Yugoslavia. The KLA was allied with the Clinton administration and supported by leading neocons such as Richard Perle, whose lobbying firm, International Advisers, Inc., counts Turkey as its major client. Gulen’s books have been translated into Albanian. BMI’s founder, Soliman Biheiri, also helped to start PTech, a Braintree, Massachusetts-based firm that had active software contracts with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Pentagon on 9/11. PTech’s offices were raided by federal authorities in December 2002 after it came under suspicion for terrorist financing. Qadi is suspected of using a series of northern Virginia-based businesses and charities to fund ‘Al Qaeda’ activities in Bosnia. Osama Bin Laden was granted a special passport by the Bosnian government in 1993. Qadi was reportedly a business partner of Turkish businessman Cuneyd Zapsu, an adviser to the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Justice and Reconciliation Party (Adalet ve Kalkinma Partisi, AKP).”

The dramatic revelations about Ergenekon coming out of Turkey also points to the reasons why the neocons in Washington were keen to stymie the work of FBI Turkish translator Sibel Edmonds and the CIA’s non-official cover agent Valerie Plame Wilson, both of whom had smuggling and other activities in Turkey high on their priority lists. On January 18, 2008, WMR reported: “WMR has learned that former CIA covert agent Valerie Plame Wilson, whose covert status was leaked by the Bush White House, and former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds, who was focused on a major covert network involving Turkish, Israeli, and key members of the Bush administration and Republican Party and weapons and drug smuggling, were essentially looking at the same network. The nexus of Turkey with both the covert CIA Brewster Jennings and Associates operations and the Turkish-Israeli network of influence active within the Defense and State Departments, is the key factor in understanding the complicated counter-espionage operation conducted by both the FBI and CIA.” It now appears that the Washington-connected criminal network being looked at by Edmonds and Plame was, in fact, closely linked to the Ergenekon network in Turkey.

WMR’s January 18, 2008 report continued: “Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald was also, according to our sources, well aware of the massive conspiracy to cover-up the smuggling of weapons of mass destruction components from former Soviet Central Asian states, as well as Ukraine, Moldova, and Ukraine, to the international weapons bazaar. The Abdul Qadeer Khan (A Q Khan) network based in Pakistan was a major beneficiary of the weapons smuggling operation that used Turkey as a pass-through. Rather than expand his investigation, Fitzgerald demurred on looking at the activities of the American Turkish Council, Turkey’s influential lobbying group in Washington, and its parallel symbiotic organization, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). Turkey and Israel are close military and intelligence partners.”

Illinois Democratic Senator Dick Durbin has called on President-elect Barack Obama to reappoint Fitzgerald as U.S. Attorney for Northern Ilinois. If Obama does so, it means that the network being investigated by Edmonds and Plame, one that stretches to Ergenekon and the Gulen network in Turkey, has its hooks deep into the future Obama administration.

The New Nazis

Knowing the documented truth about the creation of Israel by Zionist terrorism and ethnic cleansing, and watching – mainly thanks to Al Jazeera and Press TV live feeds – the war on Gaza, Israel’s latest display of state terrorism, I have come to a conclusion. It is time to give Israel’s hardcore Zionists their real name. They are the New Nazis.

Europeans and Americans could have stopped the original Nazis and prevented the extermination of six million Jews. If Europeans and Americans do not stop the New Nazis, it is likely that their end game will be the extermination of millions of Palestinians.

In his book An Ethical Tradition Betrayed, The End of Judaism, Dr. Hajo G. Meyer, a Nazi holocaust (Auschwitz) survivor, compared Israel’s policies – as of 2007 when the book was published – with the early stages of the Nazi persecution of Germany’s Jews.

He stressed that he was not seeking to draw a parallel between Israel’s current policies and the Nazis’ “endgame” – the slaughter of six million European Jews (and also the mass murder of many non-Jews).

He was merely trying to point out, he wrote, “the slippery slope” that eventually led to that catastrophe, and the necessity of “foreseeing the possible consequences” of a policy that oppresses and marginalizes the Palestinians in their own homeland.

The Gentile me is privileged to have Hajo Meyer as a dear friend and I have just talked with him. In the light of what Israeli forces are doing over and in the Gaza Strip, I asked him if he was still not seeking to draw a parallel between Israel’s policies and the Nazis’ endgame.

He replied, “It’s becoming harder and harder not to draw that parallel.” And he agreed that it was now time to describe Israel’s hardcore Zionists and those Israelis who follow their orders as “Nazis”.

As we were speaking, I opened an e-mail from another Jewish friend. It contained quotes from a statement made yesterday in the House of Commons by Sir Gerald Kaufman, the only Jewish MP who has been consistent for many years in his criticism of Israeli policy.

His statement included this: “Is it not an incontrovertible fact that Olmert, Livni and Barak are mass murderers and war criminals?” I read that to Hajo. He said, “Kaufman is right. Every effort must now be made to bring Israel’s leaders to trial.”
Of course that will not happen, so how might their endgame be played out?

In my analysis, there is no mystery about Israel’s current real purpose. It is to put Hamas out of political as well as military business in order to improve the prospects for bullying and bribing President Abbas and his Fatah-dominated, quisling Palestine National Authority into accepting crumbs from Zionism’s table – the crumbs being an Israeli withdrawal from parts of the West Bank to provide the Palestinians with two or three Bantustans which they could call a state if they wished.

Would President Abbas actually be prepared to settle for very much less than a complete Israeli withdrawal from all of the West Bank including Arab East Jerusalem? The answer ought to be “No” because to do so would be to betray his own people and their 60 years of struggle for an acceptable minimum of justice.

But what if he came under pressure from President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton, and their message to him, endorsed by Quartet envoi Tony Blair, was something like, “You’ve got to be pragmatic. This is the best deal you Palestinians are ever likely to get.”

Obama and Clinton would not need to add, “Because we’re not going to press the Israelis to do what they don’t want to do.”

Under such pressure, and also that applied by the regimes of the existing corrupt, repressive and impotent Arab Order, it is not impossible that President Abbas would buckle completely and accept the crumbs on offer from Zionism’s table, but if he did, he and they would be rejected by the overwhelming majority of the occupied Palestinian people.

Then what?

Israel creates a pretext for war with them all. Endgame. A Zionist holocaust.

In my view, which Hajo Meyer shares, that could happen unless enough Israelis and the Jews of the world are prepared to acknowledge that a terrible wrong was done to the Palestinians by Zionism (the few) in the name of all Jews.

The US promotes Israeli genocide against Palestinians

As long ago as October 19, 2000, the then United Nations Human Rights Commission (now Council) condemned Israel for inflicting “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity” upon the Palestinian people, most of whom are Muslims. The reader has a general idea of what a war crime is, so I am not going to elaborate upon that term here. But there are different degrees of heinousness for war crimes. In particular are the more serious war crimes denominated “grave breaches” of the Fourth Geneva Convention. Since the outbreak of the first Intifada in 1987, the world has seen those heinous war crimes inflicted every day by Israel against the Palestinian people living in occupied Palestine: e.g., willful killing of Palestinian civilians by the Israeli army and by Israel’s illegal paramilitary settlers. These Israeli “grave breaches” of the Fourth Geneva Convention mandate universal prosecution for the perpetrators and their commanders, whether military or civilian, including and especially Israel’s political leaders. But I want to focus for a moment on Israel’s “crimes against humanity” against the Palestinian people-as determined by the UN Human Rights Commission itself, set up pursuant to the requirements of the United Nations Charter. What are “crimes against humanity”? This concept goes all the way back to the Nuremberg Charter of 1945 for the trial of the major Nazi war criminals in Europe. In the Nuremberg Charter of 1945, drafted by the United States Government, there was created and inserted a new type of international crime specifically intended to deal with the Nazi persecution of the Jewish people: Crimes against humanity: namely, murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation, and other inhumane acts committed against any civilian population, before or during the war, or persecutions on political, racial or religious grounds in execution of or in connection with any crime within the jurisdiction of the Tribunal, whether or not in violation of the domestic law of the country where perpetrated. The paradigmatic example of “crimes against humanity” is what Hitler and the Nazis did to the Jewish people. This is where the concept of “crimes against humanity” came from. And this is what the UN Human Rights Commission determined that Israel is currently doing to the Palestinian people: crimes against humanity. Expressed in legal terms, this is just like what Hitler and the Nazis did to the Jews. That is the significance of the formal determination by the UN Human Rights Commission that Israel has inflicted “crimes against humanity” upon the Palestinian people. The Commission chose this well-known and long-standing legal term of art quite carefully and deliberately based upon the evidence it had compiled. Furthermore, the Nuremberg “crimes against humanity” are the historical and legal precursor to the international crime of genocide as defined by the 1948 Genocide Convention. The theory here was that what Hitler and the Nazis did to the Jewish people was so horrific that it required a special international treaty that would codify and universalize the Nuremberg concept of “crimes against humanity.” And that treaty ultimately became the 1948 Genocide Convention. Article II of the Genocide Convention defines the international crime of genocide in relevant part as follows: In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group as such: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part. As documented by Israeli historian Ilan Pappe in his seminal book The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestin (2006), Israel’s genocidal policy against the Palestinians has been unremitting, extending from before the very foundation of the State of Israel in 1948, and is ongoing and even intensifying against the 1.5 million Palestinians living in Gaza. Zionism’s “final solution” to Israel’s much touted “demographic threat” allegedly posed by the very existence of the Palestinians has always been genocide. Certainly, Israel and its predecessors-in-law-the Zionist agencies, forces, and terrorist gangs-have committed genocide against the Palestinian people that actually started on or about 1948 and has continued apace until today in violation of Genocide Convention Articles II(a), (b), and (c). For at least the past six decades, the Israeli government and its predecessors-in-law – the Zionist agencies, forces, and terrorist gangs – have ruthlessly implemented a systematic and comprehensive military, political, and economic campaign with the intent to destroy in substantial part the national, ethnical, racial, and different religious (Jews versus Muslims and Christians) group constituting the Palestinian people. This Zionist/Israeli campaign has consisted of killing members of the Palestinian people in violation of Genocide Convention Article II(a). This Zionist/Israeli campaign has also caused serious bodily and mental harm to the Palestinian people in violation of Genocide Convention Article II(b). This Zionist/Israeli campaign has also deliberately inflicted on the Palestinian people conditions of life calculated to bring about their physical destruction in substantial part in violation of Article II(c) of the Genocide Convention. Article I of the Genocide Convention requires all contracting parties such as the United States “to prevent and to punish” genocide. Yet to the contrary, historically the “Jewish” state’s criminal conduct against the Palestinians has been financed, armed, equipped, supplied and politically supported by the “Christian” United States. Although the United States is a founding sponsor of, and a contracting party to, both the Nuremberg Charter and the Genocide Convention, as well as the United Nations Charter, these legal facts have never made any difference to the United States when it comes to its blank-check support for Israel and their joint and severable criminal mistreatment of the Palestinians-truly the wretched of the earth! The world has not yet heard even one word uttered by the United States and its NATO allies in favor of “humanitarian intervention” against Israel in order to protect the Palestinian people, let alone a “responsibility to protect” the Palestinians from Zionist/Israeli genocide. The United States, its NATO allies, and the Great Powers on the UN Security Council would not even dispatch a UN Charter Chapter 6 monitoring force to help protect the Palestinians, let alone even contemplate any type of UN Charter Chapter 7 enforcement actions against Israel – shudder the thought!. The doctrine of “humanitarian intervention” so readily espoused elsewhere when US foreign policy goals are allegedly at stake has been clearly proved to be a joke and a fraud when it comes to stopping the ongoing and accelerating Israeli campaign of genocide against the Palestinian people. Rather than rein in the Israelis – which would be possible just by turning off the funding pipeline – the United States government, the US Congress, and US taxpayers instead support the “Jewish” state to the tune of about 4 billion dollars per year, without whose munificence this instance of genocide – and indeed conceivably the State of Israel itself – would not be possible. What the world witnesses here is (yet another) case of “dishumanitarian intervention” or “humanitarian extermination” by the United States and Israel against the Palestinians and Palestine. In today’s world genocide pays so long as it is done at the behest of the United States and its de jure or de facto allies such as Israel. Of course miracles can always happen. But I anticipate no fundamental change in America’s support for the Israeli campaign of genocide against the Palestinians during the tenure of the Obama/Clinton administration. ‘Israeli officials must be tried for Gaza’

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called for establishing a war crimes tribunal to try Israeli officials for their crimes in Gaza.

“I promise the people of the world that very soon a war crimes tribunal will be set up to bring Israeli officials and their supporters in the US and the West to justice,” said President Ahmadinejad at a Thursday press conference in Tehran.

Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip on Dec. 27, at least 1,100 Palestinians have been killed and 4,700 have been wounded. The majority of the victims are women and children.

He criticized Western countries for their silence on the atrocities committed by Israel in the impoverished strip and said that the world holds the US and Britain responsible for the human tragedy in Gaza.

“Israel was created on a false and illegal basis to aid Western powers in dominating the Middle East,” said President Ahmadinejad.

He urged Muslim countries to cut trade relations with Israel.

Earlier in the week, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, issued a decree boycotting the purchase or promotion of Israeli-linked products.

“Since the Zionists are now at war with Islam, Muslims should avoid any action which might bring them [Israelis] profit,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Iranian president also welcomed the idea of imposing an oil embargo on Israel and its supporters, saying “I think it is a good proposal should Arab countries cooperate.”

Iran is the world’s fourth-largest crude producer.
